OMICRON enhances agility and compliance with the support of Tabellae and Lasernet

As a global company operating across multiple legal entities, OMICRON needs document processes that are standardized, adaptable, and scalable. Through a strong partnership with Tabellae, OMICRON has built an output management setup that supports compliance, enables fast adaptation to new requirements, and strong support.

About OMICRON

OMICRON Electronics GmbH is a leading Austrian provider of testing, diagnostics, and monitoring solutions for the energy industry. With operations in more than 30 countries, OMICRON supports utilities and energy professionals worldwide with highly specialized technology.

To support their global document processes, OMICRON chose Lasernet
Output Management from Tabellae to manage 45-50 document types and business-critical documents across countries and entities.

Standard ERP Output in Dynamics 365 wasn’t enough

OMICRON implemented Dynamics 365 F&SCM to standardize processes across 14 legal entities and create a scalable foundation. However, they quickly realized that they needed a more flexible and maintainable setup for output management:

“We looked at the standard document capabilities in Dynamics 365, but it was very expensive to design, and complicated to maintain”, says Mario Moschen, Team Leader Information Systems Business Solutions at OMICRON Electronics.

Instead, they chose Lasernet by Tabellae: “We searched for a partner who was capable of doing both the implementation project, consulting, and helping us turn our ideas into solutions. That partner became Tabellae, with a perfect outcome”.

Compliance and flexibility go hand in hand

Before the project, document management varied significantly between entities, making compliance and standardization difficult. Today, OMICRON works with centrally managed documents that can continuously adapt to changing business requirements, customer demands and new services:

“It was important that we would be able to implement new business models. We are moving more into selling solutions as a service, so every week we have changes from the business. And, if we experience compliance issues, we immediately change the documents. But, we always have new, complex requirements or documents, which we will never do in-house – then we just inform Tabellae. The expertise at your side is needed for us”.

“One important aspect of our future growth is our collaboration with Tabellae, uniting their expertise with our business drive.”

Post-go-live support built on expertise and trust

For OMICRON, the project didn’t end at go-live. The company works closely with Tabellae on ongoing document changes, release planning and ERP updates:

“Our experience with the post-go-live services is perfect. Your designated consultant is involved in our deployment processes, our way of working, and in our daily business. So it’s a very easy day-to-day collaboration, and whenever there is a new requirement, it’s always delivered in time. I think you’re one of the very best partners we have”.

According to Mario, the close collaboration also ensures stability and a holistic experience: “Regarding release management, Tabellae is helping us a lot with all the different versions we have in ERP, but also with other ISV solutions, so they fit in our deployment and release plan from a holistic perspective as well. And the system is very stable.

Choosing the right partner is key

Selecting the right partner was a critical success factor for OMICRON’s ERP project, and about much more than technical capabilities:

“For a good project you need to have the right partners on board, and work together with them very closely to have a good collaboration. Therefore, we looked at whether the partners fulfilled our system needs, but also whether they fit our company’s culture, and if the way they work fits to our needs. It is very important for us to stay with our partners for a long time, and chose the right one the first time”.

Great collaboration drives faster business changes

According to Mario, the partnership with Tabellae has become an important enabler for their future: “Our partnership is very important for OMICRON’S future growth. We can move very fast, because we have the expertise on your side and the business drive on our side. Without a very good partnership, we would not be able to implement changes that fast and professionally”.
